Chips are the topics a customer taps on the scan page under "What did you love?". Each chip they tap gets woven into their review, using different wording across the three options so Google does not see repeated phrasing. Chips are the biggest lever you have over what your reviews actually mention.
You can set between 3 and 7 chips, edited per business from the Topics section of AI configuration.
What makes a good chip
- Customer-facing nouns, not internal jargon: "Coffee", not "Beverage SKU".
- Keep them to 2 to 4 words: "Wait time", not "How fast were you served".
- Use things customers naturally talk about: service, ambience, pricing, specific dishes, specific staff.
Examples by business type
- Cafe: Coffee, Service, Ambience, Wait time.
- Salon: Stylist, Pricing, Cleanliness, Bookings.
- Clinic: Doctor, Staff, Cleanliness, Reception.
